Travis Erickson – Appalachain State, Former UW-LaCrosse

Horizontal Jumps

 

Travis is in his first year of teaching at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.  Prior to moving to warmer climates, Travis was an assistant track and field coach for the women’s team under Pat Healy for five years and director of the undergraduate strength and conditioning concentration at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse.  Specializing in coaching long, triple, and high jumpers and pole vaulters, Travis was named the nation’s 2009 NCAA Division III Women’s Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year, as voted on by his peers. 

 

Travis was fortunate to have the opportunity to coach a number of All-American jumpers including Wisconsin natives Caitlin Schetter (Kiel) and Katie Fondow (Green Bay) who, combined, won 18 All-American honors in the long and triple jumps including three national titles during their four years at La Crosse.  In addition to his track coaching duties, Travis also served as the strength and conditioning coach for a variety of sports at UW-La Crosse including football, baseball, wrestling, cross country, and track and field.  Travis was a four-time All-American for the Eagles in the mid-nineties in the long jump and triple jump.
